The centre is an independent advisory, policy, research, and advocacy organisation that operates in the domain of criminal law and its practice and procedure generally.

It seeks to enhance the administration of criminal law through legal reforms and promote compliance with due process rights and fair trial procedures to establish an efficient system of criminal justice in Ghana within the core tenets of the adversarial system.

Its focus areas include prisons and penal reforms, gender violence, violence against children and juvenile justice, Anti-corruption, Anti-terrorism & Money-laundering.
